Mostly major mods and complete overhauls sometimes need to change the vanilla texts for their mods. UPC-TOB is of course fully free for all modders to use it as a base for their mods.
UPC-TOB can be used to fix vanilla text errors and if you see any vanilla text errors in the game, then you can post it here on the thread and I will look at it. Thrones of Britannia has the same language system like Attila and therefore if a player uses another language than English, then the custom texts added from modders in their mods are not visible in game. I created the UPC-TOB similar like I did it for previous games (Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2, Rome 2, Attila). All language versions feature the latest vanilla game localization. I released the first version of the Unit Pack Compatibility Languages Project - Thrones of Britannia (UPC-TOB). UPC Team and current language/localization support " It is better to see at least an English text, as there would be otherwise just a blank text." There is a little rule in the UPC history. Please note that not all mods in each language are translated, but all custom entries are included in English and you can see at least English texts. It contains only the custom texts of the included mods. The UPC doesn't contain any mods and you must download the mods from the related sites. I will update the UPC with new orignal vanilla texts from future official patches and DLCs. Each language needs a separate UPC language version. All other languages ignore the included custom texts. This is because only the English language file system can directly read the custom texts from our mods. If you switch to English, then all custom texts appear without the need of the UPC-TOB. You can switch your language in the Steam options of Thrones of Britannia. Then you can see all custom unit names, descriptions and other texts from the included mods. Therefore this mod aims to create an universal localisation.loc file that can be used to make as many mods as possible compatible. Mods are not compatible if they all include an own language file which contains the file localisation.loc. Without the UPC you can not see these custom unit names, descriptions and other texts if you don't use the English language version. Most of these texts are from Unit Pack Mods, Gameplay Mods and Overhaul Mods. The UPC project is necessary for all languages except English, because of added custom texts to the game by modders.
